Self-help groups are an important component of recovery services. Research has shown how effective self-help groups are and the role they play in building a support network. Self-help groups and other recovery support services can be incorporated in the curriculum of Recovery Residences to offer residents different activities that foster an environment of sobriety. This course will discuss the different types of self-help groups and the groups that can be held in Recovery Residences.
